About the CR Band
The Carolyn Ramsay Band is a collaboration of musical talent brought to life by Carolyn Ramsay - lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Jessica Ramsay - lead vocals, harmony and rhythm guitar, Chuck Farrell - lead guitar, Bud Clark - bass guitar, and Mike Chatigny - percussion and back-up vocals.
After knowing one another for years, the group formally formed the band in 2012 with the goal of doing what they are passionate about and bringing music to central New Hampshire. Picturesque Wolfeboro, NH is home to CRB who’s style of music mimics the beautiful environment. With roots in Rock and Folk music, their soulful style paints the songs they cover with their own brush leaving a joyful impression on their audience.
Carolyn Ramsay
Carolyn Ramsay grew up in a musical family in Canada. She began playing guitar and singing in middle school and hasn’t stopped since. Her rhythm guitar and finger picking style add to the overall sound of the band. She always wanted to sing harmony, but has now developed a vocal style of her own with deep rich tones that blend with her daughter’s higher voice beautifully. Carolyn has written several original songs and will soon be recording band versions of the songs.
Carolyn also plays as a member of Vagabond Blue with Jill Ducsai, as well as Band 29 with Laurie Jones.
Jessica Ramsay
Jessica Ramsay has been inspired by music since early childhood. She grew up in Wolfeboro, NH with a very maritime Canadian heritage. Classic Country, Blues, Folk, Pop, R’n’B, and Rock’n’Roll are just a few of the many musical genres that have influenced her vocal style. In addition to singing in the CRB, Jessica continues to write her own songs and is working on putting her first album together. Dropping the CRB demographic by ten years, she brings an energy that will inspire your dancing boots and melt your rock and roll heart. With her soulful sound and genetically engineered harmonies, you’ll surely feel the earth move under your feet.
Chuck Farrell
Living in Wolfeboro New Hampshire, Chuck brings his smooth guitar style to the band. Chuck has 20 years of experience in many diverse styles of music, with roots in rock and roll, R and B to folk music. Originally from Ontario, Canada, Chuck now calls central New Hampshire home as he brings his diverse talents to the area. His unique style is a great addition to the band to create a full sound to their music.
Bud Clark
From New Hampshire's Lakes Region, playing bass guitar, Bud brings a strong rhythmic sense and no-frills style to the band's rhythm section. Bud has 30 years of experience in musically diverse styles, from roots rock and R and B to folk and traditional American music. Although originally a guitar player, he has always been tuned into the rhythmic elements of music, so the transition to bass was a natural one.
Mike Chatigny
From Wolfeboro, NH, playing percussion and singing back-up vocals, Mike brings several different playing styles such as Jazz, Dixieland Jazz, Rock, Pop, Reggae, Concert pieces, Marches and Broadway show tunes to the sound of the band. His past experiences include playing extensively with several bands touring the East Coast, as well as recording over 150 hours in studios across the Northeast.
